Taiwanese idol group Fahrenheit will be visiting Korea to promote their country's tourism and hold a fan meeting next week, according to the event's organizer Mays Entertainment on Tuesday.

The boy band -- dubbed the TVXQ of Taiwan -- will be meeting with local fans at their first official fan meeting in Seoul, to be held at Melon Ax Hall on March 26, Mays announced in a press release.

"Tickets for the event sold out in a few hours of going on sale," an official at Mays was quoted as saying.

The official explained that the fan meeting will feature a guest appearance by Korean actress Ku Hye-sun, who starred in hit KBS TV series "Boys Over Flowers" last year and shot a promotional music video with the boy band last January.

The quartet, who are publicity ambassadors for the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan, will also be attending a press conference regarding promoting tourism in their country.

Farenheit -- composed of Aaron Yan, Wu Chun, Calvin Chen, and Jiro Wang -- made their debut in September 2006 with a self-titled album released in Taiwan and mainland China.

They gained popularity throughout Asia with the success of the debut record and subsequent albums, "Two-Sided Fahrenheit" (2008) and "Love You More and More" (2009).

The four members, who have also branched out to acting in dramas and films, received the Asia Star award at the 2010 Asia Model Awards in January in Seoul alongside top Korean actor Lee Byung-hun. They were also named Best Asian Artist at the 2008 Asia Song Festival.

Tickets for their upcoming fan meeting are available on online reservation site Auction (http://ticket.auction.co.kr).

No, multi-talented Taiwanese artiste Show Luo and adorable singer Rainie Yang were never together and are not attracted to each other, says Alien Huang, host of variety programme 100% Entertainment,

Alien's words do carry some weight. After all, he counts Show as his longtime mentor and Rainie is his ex-girlfriend, no less.

Alien arrived in Singapore last Friday to promote his first solo album, the rock-infused Love Hero, which was released at the end of last year. Known as the slapstick, loveable other half of Show on the daily entertainment variety programme, he was formerly a member of now-defunct boy-group Cosmo.

After his Cosmo album in 2003, the singer-host has finally returned to his first love of making music over hosting and acting. Alien's latest album features a collaboration of heavyweights, including rock legend Wu Bai, hip-hop maestro Chang Chen-yue and Mayday's Ashin and Monster, many of whom are friends he got to know from his hosting career.

Alien said that the road back to being a musician has been rocky, and the only way to climb back up is to "stay grounded and not be embroiled in unseemly news."

The 26-year-old credits his return to showbiz, after hitting rock-bottom seven years ago, to his "master", Show.

"Without his help, I would not be where I am today."

Alien rebuffed criticisms for being too similar to his teacher and said,"If I learn from him, there will definitely be shadows of him, so I don't mind (the comparisons)."

"But there will only be one Show Luo. If you've seen us long enough, you would know the way we talk and perform are different."

Because of certain obvious similarities, the co-hosts have gained a huge following due to their chemistry, but do they also have similiar taste in girls, like Rainie?

There have been rumoured sparks between his mentor and ex since they starred in the idol drama Hi My Sweetheart. This was further fuelled when the pair teased Alien whenever Rainie appeared on 100% Entertainment.

He negated rumours and set things straight, "I'm very close to both of them, and what I know is they're not together, were never together, and don't have special feelings for each other."

Another challenge Alien had to face during the preparation of Love Hero was the difficult task of shedding his bubbly hosting image.

"To make fans feel for my ballads and not find me funny. So far it's not been too big a problem."

An avid comic-book fan and a budding illustrator, what sort of hero would Alien want to be for his Love Hero album?

"Like Spiderman. I hope to save people. Especially for those who are going through emotional setbacks, I hope my songs can bring a sense of salvation."

And 'Alien' is his choice of a superhero alias.

Having queer names in the regional entertainment scene is not uncommon, but they don't get any weirder than that.

He admitted to creating that moniker himself, putting a twist to it from his Chinese nickname Xiaogui (literally 'Little Ghost'). The singer-host explained that he could relate to the unconventional nature and hopes to stand out and "be different" among the many other stars in the music industry.

And standing out sure comes with its benefits.

The assured host confessed that he prefers the role of the interviewee than the interviewer. "There's a certain vanity (laughs). Being interviewed is an enjoyment and another sense of achievement."

Rainie Yang's sweetie pie image now has international fans. The 26-year-old Taiwanese singer was voted as the sexiest Taiwanese female in US men's magazine Complex Magazine, thanks to her fresh and sweet appeal.

The girl-next-door apparently is the hot favourite among American men. Rainie beat even the Taiwan's most famous legs, Lin Chi-ling. The supermodel-come-actress with the baby doll voice was 5th place, lower than another cutie pie actress Ariel Lin, who's ranked 4th.

The top 10 list of female stars are Rainie Yang, Megan Lai, Joe Chen, Ariel Lin, Lin Chi-ling, Barbie Hsu, Angela Chang, Bianca Bai, Coco Chiang, and finally, Cyndi Wang.

Rainie was last seen in the Taiwanese romantic-comedy serial, Hi My Sweetheart, starring opposite Show Luo and Lee Wei. She will also be featured in an upcoming new horror flick, The Child's Eye in 3D, which is directed by the renowned Pang brothers.

After what happened, it's really hard to find someone who is committed and accept my past."

As reported earlier, on May 29th, the extremely talented and beautiful S.H.E. will be performing at the Taipei Arena for the first time in 4 years since their last “Moving Castle Concert Tour”. “S.H.E Is The One Love for the World Tour” is the girl group’s 3rd world tour in their 9 years of sisterhood. Other than a prior engagement to shoot a commercial in May, the girls plan to spend the rest of their time rehearsing for this upcoming concert. They have already declined three game companies’ offers to appear in their advertisements, sacrificing millions of NT. S.H.E laughs, “In addition to rehearsing during the day, every night we spend time beautifying our thighs so that they will be in their best condition.”

However, S.H.E. faces some fierce competition as Selina’s rumored ex-boyfriend Show Luo will perform in April at Taipei Arena and King of Asia/Hebe’s rumored former flame Jay Chou will hold his concert there in June after them. Surrounded by the threat of these Asia Heavenly Kings, S.H.E. plans to use their girl power and sexy charms to wow their fans. Selina joked, “We will use the power of our flesh to win this battle! If you thought the outfits we had at our overseas performances were sexy, watch out! We’re butchering off even more fabric!” The C-cup Ella added in, “Our 33D’s will be more spectacular than 3D’s (referring to Show Luo’s use of 3D at his upcoming concert).”

The three girls also plan to fight back against their exes with some new men. After seeing 90’s group The Little Tigers performing at CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala, S.H.E’s company H.I.M. is fervently trying to invite them to be S.H.E’s guests performers.

The three-year brother of Xiao Xiao Bin will soon be seen on the drama Happy Together. Mini-Bin is often the designated assistant wherever Xiao Xiao Bin films his latest role. The younger Bin seems to have taken up interest in acting and will get to have his own role in a TV drama.

Their dad Xiao Bin Bin previously said the younger Bin wasn’t suitable for acting despite his adorable appearance. He said Mini-Bin was much tougher to control in the past, but the boy now has no trouble with expressing general emotions. This won’t be Mini-Bin’s first acting job -- He made a guest appearance in the drama 2007 Stars Knows My Heart when he was only 6 months old.

One of the biggest surprises in Taiwanese entertainment is the rising popularity of Taiwanese parody group No Wonder Girls. Consisting of the four sexy ladies Xiao Bai 小白, Xiao You 小優, Yin Yin 茵茵, Bao Ka Ka 寶咖咖, and out-of-place male member Da Ye 大野, the group became a hit sensation in the entertainment world after performing their entertaining covers of popular K-pop songs with seamless Chinese Mandarin lyrics on variety shows University and Kang Xi Lai Le.

Since then, the four girls of the group (sorry, dude Da Ye), caught the eye of FHM Taiwan and became the chosen cover girls for the men’s magazine’s March issue.

The Tiger year has gotten off to a rough start for Taiwanese singer Jay Chou.

The award-winning R&B singer recently exchanged verbal insults with Taiwanese rapper, Dog G, and got burnt by allegations from ex-label-mate, Devin Wu, who claimed that she lost her virginity to him when she was just 16.

At the Sprite Original Music Awards in Shenzhou, China, a few nights ago, the 31-year-ols sported a beard on his face. The new, masculine appearance, he explained, is because he has been “quite unlucky lately. I have to change my image to change my luck” by having an image makeover.

Luck or not, the singer maintained his streak of multiple wins at ceremonies. He was the biggest winner that night with six awards under his belt. He also won the Best Duet award with his junior, Cindy Yen.

He remained good-natured and optimistic despite the bad press. “There is a lot of strange news going on lately. It’s unlucky but the worst will come to pass because it is good news to have news. I told myself that gossip is also a good thing because it means that I am famous. However, there are some issues that need to be clarified to prevent misunderstandings.”

Since taking on more film roles with The Treasure Hunter, True Legend and his upcoming Hollywood debut as Kato in The Green Hornet, as well as producing his own superhero TV series Pandamen, the multi-hyphenate intends to return to the music industry.

“This year I plan to focus on music and concerts. I won’t be toying with movies and I do not wish to forsake my music fans again.”
